We've been quiet recently, very quiet indeed...but we've been biding our time, retooling, and are back in the saddle again! It's time for some news and updates from the Admin Trainers:
First, and most importantly, we are RECRUITING! If you are interested in becoming a DoD:S Admin Trainer, please send me a PM. We hope to add two or three new trainers, and if possible, a European trainer to better serve our members across the pond. But before you do so,
Prerequisites
-eGO level admin with some experience
-Microphone (this should be obvious, but it's worth stating anyway)
-Interest in helping teach our admins how to use their toolboxes and handle situations ingame
Benefits
-Flexible schedule; you can post classes for when you have some free time
-The nice shiny "Admin Trainer Award"
Please mention in your PM your location in the world and a little bit about why you're interested in joining us. Nothing major, I don't particularly like reading essays either. We will take a look at everyone interested and go from there!
Second, please welcome Aknightwhosezni to the DoD:S Admin Trainers! I'm looking forward to working with him, and he will be a great asset to our crew. He does request that you do not spam his inbox/wall with "Congratulations" messages, all those visitor messages do indeed get a little old

Third, a new Admin 101 class has been posted at http://www.edgegamers.org/forums/showthread.php?p=1103713#post1103713, for this coming Saturday, October 17, at 11PM EST. To answer some of the most obvious (and inevitable) questions right now:
Specifically for the =(e)='s:
-=(e)='s CANNOT see the Admin School forum. Please don't PM me that you can't go to the link and sign up, I already know that. If the class is not full by Friday, I will open it up to you on the usual first-come, first-serve basis, and will post either here or in the DoD General forum if that occurs. This one is easy: eGs and eGOs have priority when it comes to signing up for admin training classes.
-On the same note: =(e)='s are NOT required to attend any Admin Training classes, and it has NO bearing whatsoever on promotions. Being an e is about having a good time and getting to know the community. To be honest, for the most part, you will be "listening but not touching" (bad euphemism, I know) the bulk of what we cover, as you won't have the necessary access.
For the eG's and eGO's:
-Admin 101 is the prerequisite for our Advanced Admin Training class. We will be offering more of these classes in the future, and you will be able to take whatever classes you need. Even if you don't feel you "need" training, 101 is at the very least a good refresher of server administration methods and eGO policies. Advanced focuses on the console and more in-depth admining.
Hopefully we can get back on track with the goal of offering a class at least every other week; real life has been rather unkind lately, hence the long gap until now.
Finally, special thanks to Duality for the awesome graphic here. Thanks everyone, and I look forward to successful training in the future!
