<div style="width: 500px; text-align: center" align="center">The Call of Duty Division is asking for your help.

Saturday morning, the community manager for Infinity Ward dropped a bomb on the Call of Duty community during a podcast interview on BashandSlash.com stating there would be NO DEDICATED SERVERS and NO MOD SUPPORT in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Instead, you will be connected using an IW.net matchmaking system much like consoles use, essentially making everyone use each other as listen servers.
What this means for us is no dedicated server, no admins, no custom maps, essentially no community - basically everything that makes eGO great.

I am in awe of the lack of support for our favorite form of gaming.
If we want to play first person shooters on consoles, we would buy a console.

This is an outrage, and I am asking two things of people:

1. Click here to sign the petition.
It may or may not help, but it can't hurt to try.

2. If you have pre-ordered Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, cancel it.
The one thing that might persuade Infinity Ward is money. As they say, "Money talks."

This is a great community, and we have tons of players. Let's see if we can get the folks at Infinity Ward to change their minds.

Even if you don't play Call of Duty, imagine if this were to happen to your favorite game or possibly the next itteration of your favorite, i.e., TF2, DoD:S or CS:S. Can you imagine your game without dedicated servers?

We had high hopes for this as a new addition to eGO.
Unless me make an impact now, this is the future of PC gaming.

Thank you,

Here are the snippets:

We're doing a lot on the backend to make the game accessible for everyone.
There is no delay for the PC version of MW2
There's prestige mode
Jason West at the MP event, said that he was dead on, on the matchmaking servers. We've been building a system on the backend called IW.NET.
You are completely reliant on IW.NET. There are no server lists. There are no dedicated servers.
You have private matches where you can customize the game
You cannot put MW2 on a dedicated server.
This is the first time we've ever done something like this and the team has huge plans for what IW.NET develops into.
Customizing your game...you have quite a few options in a private match
You're getting same game (as in Console), plus matchmaking and private match.
Server admin point of view, NO DEDICATED SERVERS

I dont understand why you guys refuse to give this system a chance while knowing so little about it. So what if eGO cant have servers? You can still play and enjoy the game.

I signed... hope it works or else nothing will be the same :(
What do you mean nothing will ever be the same? You'll still play the game the same exact way you'll just use a matchmaking system instead of servers.
Infinity Ward has stated that they are making this system clan/team friendly. Its not like this is some half assed idea they threw together in 10 minutes, they're obviously putting a good deal of time and support into the PC version to have to want to plan and develop a whole new system for it.

This Sucks Because my COD4 Game wont Play so I can't play on eGO COD4 And my TF2 Is kinda hard because when im On not many people are on the eGO server.... so i was looking forward to MW2 But this is a BIG UPSET!! :( SIGNED

I did give it a try, on xbox 360, its horrid

I don't play CoD, nor do I plan to, but this seems kinda outrageous. :/ I'll definitely sign the petition for those who are wanting to get this game for the multiplayer.

I completely agree, I've got COD4 on the Xbox360, sure its an okay system and you can play with your mates, but you don't have community servers or anything, and you can't get rid of irritating children that keep shouting in the mic.

I won't buy COD:MW2 without it having dedicated servers for PC.

I have signed the petition why havent they got Dedi's ????????????????

dont they realise there gunna get like 100 pc buyers

:(

Doesn't look like they are going to change it. which is probably true, I mean, it would take them 6 months to a year to get dedicated servers up...so now what?

I recently called a game stop in my area and talked to the manager about cancellations for PC versions of the game, he told me (would't give me exact numbers) but alot of people have cancelled their pc pre-orders...

If you times the current tally 152881 x 59.95 you get a whopping $9,165,215.95... thats a big hit...

but how many will actually not buy the game?

Signed, and spreading the word. Come on guys, 157699 Total Signatures so far.
