My wireless internet on laptops and other systems is horrible, such as when I play cod4 for ps3 my connection is in the little red dot or 2 yellow bars. I upgraded firmware and so on. Any ideas on why it is not working?

try changing the channel, or if the router is far from your comp get a repeater

Where is your router located? If it's next to a bunch of other electronics then it's possible there is interference between the two. Especially if you have cordless phones in your house that are on the 2.4Ghz frequency. If so try and keep them as far from each other as possible.

Baby monitors can be a pain too, but most commonly distance + obstacles are your worst enemies. I know this sounds strange, but try orienting your router in a different position. For me, that makes the signal up to 50% stronger.

I had this same problem I just moved it closer and away from other electronic appliance's.

this may not be an issue nowadays with the current routers you can get, but i remember not long ago it was the worst thing you could do by being on a separate floor than your router

Most of the wireless G routers or better don't have too much problem with different floors, but that's where my orientation idea comes in. You wouldn't believe how often rotating the router 180 degrees can change how well you receive the signal if you are far away or on another floor.

If it's near appliances move it. Try to get it in the center of your house or if you only use it in one area move it closer to there. Anything else that is wireless could cause interference (ie: some mice, speakers, phones)

You could also try upgrading the hardware, you didn't list the brand/model/year so I don't know. I get good signal from my wireless on my blackberry while I'm outside my apartment and I can go pretty far before it starts to dim

The only obstacle is a wall and the interference is only the pc i'll try rotating it 180 degrees.

EDIT: Did not work

The problem is the WLAN switch on my WRT54GS linksys router is blinking and it is not supposed to can anybody tell me a fix to that?
