I'm running 32-bit Vista now, windows says it's "64-bit capable", so 64-bit Win7 would work?

Oh yea it should work, I guess 7 takes up less resources than vista, so I don't think you should have a problem running just about anything

Get it for $30 if ya can. Don't settle for Home edition. Look for the link to buy pro for that price. Make sure you pick the right bit for your computer (32 or 64) can only do it once and if you can support 64bit no reason for 32.
