General Downloading/Connection Problems

Well ever since i recieved my computer back from HP services over 2 months ago, I havent been able to download any maps from TF2,CS:S or any game at all and instead I have to go on the web and DL them from there rather than in game...

That's my first real problem and the 2nd one is that I cannot connect to things, such as iTunes Store and when i try it comes up with:
iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. The network connection was reset.
Make sure your network connection is active and try again.

Now i never had this problem before it was sent away and I was wandering if HP may have done something which may have disabled my laptop to connect.

This also happens with my Flight Simulator X game where it cannot connect to the server where I have to send my product key for the game to be a full game and not just the trial.

So if anyone can help with either problem it would be much appreciated... Really does bother me how I DL any new music... Sort of getting bored of all my Elvis stuff

Sounds like a firewall issue, have you tried disabling your firewall? This includes windows firewall which can be found in control panel, also if it is vista make sure its allowed to connect to the internet.

Firewall is down and is never on at any time... And I think it is, always had vista and never had the problem like this....

Have you tried reinstalling tf2 and the other programs, god forbid you have to install all 30gbs or so of FSX

No... ill give it a go... Just wait to do it till tomorrow... Lol of course not... thats not enough... i did it 3 times No jokes
But it's only 10GB or so so not too bad
