Ran Malaware and removed 3 rootkits, did not solve my problem, I must open my Local Area Connection from control panel and use repair connection to regain my internet, I've removed Zone alarm, I scanned system for virus, ran Malware twice and still no joy, losing connection within a minute after each repair...Can't reload windows, no system disk, tried restore from a point last month, I'm out of answers. My modem never appears to lose connection, cables are fine, seems to be a software issue, I've tried uninstalling devices from Hardware manager resetting modem, restarting computer...

are you on a laptop? if thats the case then your wifi card may need to be replaced and or update the drivers for it.

My old Charter modem did that all the time. Called them and had them reset the connection, then it worked fine for 2 weeks and it started again. Told them about it so they sent me a new modem then it worked until I switched to Comcast. Even though it doesn't appear to be a modem problem (the lights stay on) it still could be.

I can run the laptop without a problem so it must be a windows issue that can be fixed temporarily by the repair button in the local area connection box.

Do you know what kinda of LAN adapter you have? If so, then try updating the drivers. Or go in the device manager and click on the adapter you're using then the device tab and see if it will let you use the roll back drivers feature.

Can't roll back, reinstalled existing drivers, tried uninstalling devices, no joy.
