Yeah so when i logged in today everytime i open up a new window i get this popup ad.timp from ads.traffiq.com it asks me to save or open anyone know what this is

It's a popup. There is a chance you have malware or anything worse. Scan your computer for viruses that may spawn pop-ups. May I ask what computer security scanner you have?

If you need help removing malware just jump into the chat in my signature. I'll be more than happy to assist you.

If not go and download MalwareBytes and perform a full scan.

Add the website to your HOSTS file. For winXP its in: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

Open the file in wordpad, then safe as the default txt file. Close the wordpad doc and open the txt file. (by default it should open in notepad)

Add the following line-This line has specific been edited to not display as a HTML link

127.0.0.1 ads dot traffiq dot com

Save the file again as a txt file. Delete the original HOSTS file, then remove the .txt off the txt file. You need to have the known extentions showing to do this. You also will get a warning about renaming, just click yes. Doing this will prevent your computer from accessing this site. Anytime your browser trys to get to the page it is sent to the loopback address. Ultimately you get a display saying in IE, "IE cannot display the webpage."

If you use Spyboy S&D you will see their program adds things to your HOSTS file also. I personally take my time manually adding many ad sites to my HOSTS file. Once you get a huge HOSTS file you should make the DNS Client service manual and not auto.

Here are a few sites to learn more about your HOSTS file.
