Are you sure you're using his action skill Berserk? Because that's the only time Brick uses his fists. The 'normal' melee attack doesn't do much. The great thing about Berserk is that while Berserked, you regenerate health quickly and get a nice damage reduction. Here's my build so far (I'm only 37).

i was only lvl 13 when iwanted to kill him
was alot easier on 14 xD
