5850s

wow these have gone up in price on newegg
does anyone have first-hand experience with ASUS and their warranties/product quality? because all other 5850's are $280+
and the 5850 is pushin my budget, i dont want to get a 5770 :scared:

Good choice, 5850 is beat, matches against the GTX 285 and beats it most of the time i believe from what i remember.

Uhhh yea ASUS is fairly good in GPU's, they make solid computer parts in general like their mobo's and all that. The 5850's are only referance boards right now so don't worry about the brand so much, they are all the same and manufactured the same.

ASUS is good tho, buy from them....i can't wait till they come out with non-reference boards, ASUS is probably gonna use their new tech like they did in their 4890, with the SUPER ML cap and all that....say they could achieve 300% overclocks and the aftermarket heatsink was good too from what i read about it.

i'm waiting until supply grows, and the price drops back down to normal. ASUS should be fine, but personally, it's hard to pass up XFX's warranty and reputation for ATI gpus.

wow i totally spaced it that they make more than just monitors and gpu's.

XFX isn't a bad company for GPU'S in general but they are actually fairly new to ATI cards. They only got into ATI cards during the ATI 4 Series and it was about a year into the ATI 4 series release that they got into it. XFX isn't bad though in general. There are a lot of good companies out there, its just which one's the cheapest and if its non-referance, the best card overal (clock speeds, heatsink, etc..)
