dedicated server (firend wants to know)

hey guys i have a question my friend wants to know how to make a dedicated server so can u tell me how to make one so i can tell him.. it would be apreciated thnx

im not sure.. but if u want to start a map u can just do that when the game loads. but if u want ure own server it costs $ (i think).

in steam in tools on the top left download deicated server then there you go you have a basic server,

Ive tried "source dedicated" server before, didnt really work, ive been interested in making a server to, not really sure what for, just to have ............and if you run the server off your computer, its free, you dont need to spend money then
