explain this one if you can.

at 3 am PDT with very few of eGO members playing, I did pretty good in highschool.
I was +417 points and - 1 position!!! I slipped from 6 to 7 when I am almost positive none of the top 6 are even playing!

I can understand if other players scored more points than me and passed me even if i was doing good, but that is not the case here, what gives?

either 6 and above have much more points than you, thus your 400+ didnt move you past them - or your kills were not enough h.s. - i believe the "rank" system isnt based on points alone, im sure there are other factors like h.s., how many per minute etc...other than that...umm...too bad for you ..lol.

It's the server ghost, its haunted, he lowers ranks on Halloween

+417? omg i am very suprised that you didnt even keep your 6 spot!!

Same problem happened last night.

I was 28-11 last night and lost 200 points. I was positive all day and lost 83 positions.

That's why I wish we didn't have stats :/

Just seeing it there makes me worry about it. I play Insurgency and DoD without even worrying though.

I second this. It's the only explanation.

Haha, or we're getting more first time players on the servers so we lose 15-25 points every time we die, as to us getting 2 points every time we get a kill.

Thats easy to answer why it happened. If you kill low ranked people you get very few points and they lose very few points where when they kill you they get a lot of points and you lose a lot of points. It's how the elo system works, a great example is Bobby Fischer one of the best chess players of all time had such a high elo score that even when he beat the guy with the #2 elo he lost points. You need to look at your average point gain per kill kill to see how much of an improvement your getting in the rankings. Also try and play with other higher ranked players and as long as you do well your point gain should be positive.

Yeah, that's what I said in my next post haha. I was 500 in standings now I'm 650 and that happened in 2 days and I've been playing good.

Wow, ever since i played highschool on Halloween, my rank went sky high up! I always went first place on ct and my team always wins when im on today. also, on be there was 4 ts watching the bomb on B but the bomb was planted next to the ct stairs that i can defuse it without anyone seeing me. The 4 ts also saw the bomb but they didn't see me. I also shift walk so they didnt hear my steps. Now i have more kills than deaths

my thoughts too...

Pretty sure the stats reset every couple of weeks dont they? Since the stats take up some much HDD space?
