Shattered Horizon!

I've played the beta, it was an interesting experience but nothing I would really shell out money for. It's the same old everything...except in space. Just my opinion though, maybe people who really got into it had some really cool stuff they could pull of because of the environment.

My friend keeps telling me about this game. It sounds interesting, but I need to learn more about it before I'll consider buying it.

Has anyone bought it, how is it? are there a lot of people that play online? (seeing how that is the only way to play it lol) was it worth the money?

sorry for the bump, i thought it would make more sense though then to make a whole new topic

i picked it up this weekend. I really enjoy it, brings me back to the days of descent. theres a few different game modes, a team deathmatch, attack/defend kind of like gravelpit on TF2, and capture push maps similar to granary or well on TF2. The developers did a great job of designing maps that make great use of the full 3D environment too with intuitive controls for use with keyboard and mouse.

I dropped my jaw when I saw the specs. My graphics card is barely on the minimum list. Ridiculous. If i were to get this, i probably wouldn't be able to enjoy it like it is suppose to be enjoyed. If the price drops a little bit by the time I decide to upgrade my graphics card, I might get it. Might.

what card do u have bobfather? I'm running it on an 8800GT and it runs great on medium-high settings

I bought it, and I like it! It's a very different experience from anything out there. Once they create more maps, it will be even better.

Gripes: DX10 only, steep hardware requirements, and it only looks great on best settings.

I have a 9600 GT while my 9800 GTX+ gets RMA'd, and I must say that the performance on this card is pretty sorry for this game. I have no problems running TF2, L4D, and other current titles at Maxed out settings, but Shattered horizon has me running on medium to low. On the flip side, I ran it on Pyro Gurl's system (it has a Radeon HD 4870 512MB) and it runs fantastic and look incredible on her setup. The only real difference is that her video card is far superior to my current one. She has a slightly faster processor, the same amount of memory, and we both have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

To sum it up, if you have a mediocre system that was top of the line several years ago, you may need to upgrade. If you have a decent system from last year or now, buy this game. You will not be disappointed. :)

I bought it too. I'm running a 9800GTX on a dual core processer and am getting between 20 and 30 fps.

Still - it's a very cool game. The 360 degree combat zone is crazy but you learn to look over and under as well as your six.

My grip is that it doesn't support voice right now so coordinating the teams is all but impossible.

Still - I've been playing a bunch and am loving it.

I have a 8800gts 512mb, a few generations old. My card is about to turn 2 years old soon.

This is what I'm thinking

$20? Hmm. Maybe I can spare some money tomorrow.

I think I might need a new game to play 'cause I'm sucking hard at Section 8 lately....

The more I play the more I like.
What I'd like to do is get on a team with someone from eGO and have vent running so we can try to coordinate well.
Anyone up for that? I'm not sure how we'd do the vent - create a room?
