Ati 5970/5950

w00t my 7/8 year old case will be able to fit one... granted I can afford one of these puppies...

However one of these should easily last for 2 - 4 years with a core i7 and 12 gb of DDR3 RAM... if not longer and in Xfire then its perfect for a long time.

lol xfire two of these and your set for like life almost haha.......i have a feeling it wont scale amazing though just like 2x4870x2....they didn't scale well.......but omg tri-fire, one of these and a 5870 should scale very nicely as tri-fire has done so with the 4870x2 + 4870

Should see some epic performance........the people that posted this actually has performance benchmarks of this card up but AMD got hold of them and made them take the benchmarks down before anyone could see them

You couldn't tri fire a 5970 and 5870, right? Before it had to be the same series. Like 58xx series, etc.

why in the hell would you need tri fire 5870x2 + 5870, lol...seriously
unless you're just trying to pleasure your own eyes with your 3dmark score or something

woot, your saying that it will also fit the haf 932, lol another good reason to get that case when are they comin out?

Definitely Agreed.

Some people just have to have the best of the best, no matter what the cost. Personally, I don't understand it either. I'd rather take the money and buy other things. BUT, to each their own!

Anyone have pricing guesses? 5870 are like $400, so I'll say these will be a cool $600

I dunno, right now I run quad 5870's and I'm loving it, but i think I'm going to wait until AMD does 6 and 8 way crossfires to upgrade from here (which will be coming with the 6000 series) and 8 way then.

that must of cost you about $1600. lol
all you guys (and girls) running beastly or CF/SLI cards, im running a 4650 :facewall:
but, i am getting a 5850 for xmas, so im happy. :)

Well, it was my last christmas present from my mom, she gave me no budget and told me to build me and her both amazing systems, so thats what I did =D

thats a sick setup.....quad 5870 but i have a feeling they aren't all running at PCI-e x16 which is a bummer.....a cousin of mine runs 2x4870x2, hows the scaling on your 4x5870 i have a feeling it aint too good.

People like to tri-fire or quad-fire because they're enthusiasts and want the best performance. Its not really a good question cuz they just want to do it so they do it lol. Its like saying why tri-sli GTX 295 when only 2 of them work in games, even though i think you could use the third one as a physx.

As for the 5970/5950 can't wait to see how beastly they will be........i read an article somewhere that ATI has something up their sleeve that they expect will put them at the top even ahead of Nvidia, don't know what it is but i hope to see that also.

Edit:
Sources say that these babies are planned on being released this month sometime in November.

a higher memory interface? :D
256-bit is okay, but it could be much better. like 384 or 512.
