Do you guys like the candy crits?

I dont particularly like the candy kritz. Everyone has already made enough examples as to why theyre flawed, so i wont go into that.

Random kritz are a different story though. I like them, and even though its frustrating getting hit by a stray crocket, its all fair because ill likely slaughter some poor soul with random kritz myself. Kritz are really the only thing that prevent TF2 from becoming a boring stalemate all the time.

My thoughts exactly

Candy Krits

Random Krits

However, I'm thinking.... instead of having random krits start at 2% and goes up to 10%.

maybe it starts lower, at like 0%, or 0.5%... so you cannot get a krit right out of spawn. or.... just randomly shooting around....

but you krit more if you killed someone.

When in fact, the soldier should have been able to kill the scout. A bit unfair.

QUOTE]

Someone hasnt played with very good scouts yet have they? 1 good scout could own a solider = ). Even without candy crits.

Someone hasn't played with very good soldiers have they? A soldier is more than a match for a scout.

Candy crits is a bit silly, but it affects both sides equally.....

I like them both. Well, I hate the Harvest KOTH map, but the candy and pumpkins make it a different kind of map to play. It's kind of like 100% crit servers, but... Not quite there. Now you have a chance of getting a couple second crit for killing someone, instead of having a team full of soldiers spam rockets everywhere. The candies can throw the tide of the game completely and it might not always end up being a stalemate with one team steamrolling the other team everytime.

Random crits are what they are. IMO, it's a pretty good system now. Sure, no one likes being killed by a random crit to the face by a soldier who just came out from their spawn, but I think none or very very few can say that they dont like when you yourself get those crits and destroy half of the enemy team.

Random crits make my life awesome. A game devoid of crits certainly is more 'skillful' in a sort of counterstrike sense of the word; it's more realistic, really. HOWEVER, since when has TF2 focused on realism?

Random crits are the sprinkles on the ice cream. I play soldier a ton, so when I roll out, kill a few people honestly, then turn around and one-shot someone in the face (as a result of my higher crit chance from killing the other players regularly) I feel good. DAMN good. It just adds to the feeling of 'YES! I'M EXCELLENT!'

While you may or may not be actually excellent, it's an important part of the game that you think you are from time to time. Crits also allow people who are new to feel great, too. I'm ranked 70th out something like 80000 right now, and killing five or six people in a life isn't really all that special to me; but something that IS special is getting a nice, fat crit, right at someone's face. makes you feel all warm and fuzzy. I don't care what rank you are.

Candy crits (relating to the topic, of course), are of poor design, and I certainly wouldn't give up my beloved random crits for them. I think they're cute in a halloween context, but that's where they shall stay.
