Hey guys, I was just wondering how many eG0 members have this game? And what server's do you play on. I mean, I know this is a cheapo version of L4D but, I like it and would like to play more of it. Any thoughts?

Cheap version of L4D? Dont think so bud. On what grounds can you call it a cheap version of L4D? Jw.

I started downloading it, saw the massive size, asked friends what they thought, they all said it was junk, so I didn't end up downloading it.

Wow, for real? Well let?s see Left for Dead hit the set with true Co-operative game play. It offers Steam achievements. Story line is based on infected zombies (people) all over the world and 4 survivors trying to stay alive and kill them. It has known bosses towards the end of each level. The graphics are state of the art (matter of opinion I think). Release date: Nov 16th, 2008.

Killing floor: true Co-operative game play. It offers Steam achievements. Story line is based on infected zombies (people) in England and survivors trying to stay alive and kill them. It has known bosses towards the end of each level. Graphics are a bit lame compared to Left 4 Dead. Sure they added a few spiffs to it, and added new monsters, bosses, makes it ' Matrix ' like with the time slow move, but at its core, it?s based from L4d. I say this because let's face it, the graphics blow, it would not take long to make a game like this it should have been released way before L4D. Somebody played L4d and wanted to make their own version of it. Release date. May 13th, 2009.

?ABOUT LEFT 4 DEAD

From Valve (the creators of Counter-Strike, Half-Life and more) comes Left 4 Dead, a co-op action horror game for the PC and Xbox 360 that casts up to four players in an epic struggle for survival against swarming zombie hordes and terrifying mutant monsters.Set in the immediate aftermath of the zombie apocalypse, L4D's survival co-op mode lets you blast a path through the infected in four unique ?movies,? guiding your survivors across the rooftops of an abandoned metropolis, through rural ghost towns and pitch-black forests in your quest to escape a devastated Ground Zero crawling with infected enemies. Each "movie" is comprised of five large maps, and can be played by one to four human players, with an emphasis on team-based strategy and objectives ?

?ABOUT THE GAME
Killing Floor is a Co-op Survival Horror FPS set in the devastated cities and countryside of England after a series of cloning experiments for the military goes horribly wrong. You and your friends are members of the military dropped into these locations with a simple mission: Survive long enough to cleanse the area of the failed experiments! ?*

Key word?..Survive. Different plots, same type of game. One is based off the other. In my opinion. The post really is about who plays and on what servers, I would like to join fellow clanmates and play with, as I only play the single player mode. Nobody seems to play it on my side of the world.

Thanks

If i recall correctly, the KF mod was out before L4D was probably even thought of.

I have both KF and L4D. When I play KF, I host my own listening server. If you wanna play, hit me up.

Also, Killing Floor doesn't have zombies or Infected. They're "Specimens", basically failed military experiments of some sort.

Don't know....really don't care. The topic of this post was to find other eGO members that played and on what servers. Not to have a debate about the two games. Thanks

Lol, if you didnt want to debate you shouldnt have called it a cheap knock off, just some words of wisdom.

But I play it, trying to level up my sharp shooter, im at 3 atm.

I see, so am I to understand that I am not allowed to express my personal opinions on eGO forums?

Never said that, just saying that your comment is in conflict with your goal. I neither censored you or limited you, so idk where your pulling that from lol.

Telling me what I should not have called this game, is placing limits on my opinion. No matter, this topic is out of control. The goal for me was to find other gamers that have and play The Killing Floor. Seems to have opened up a door that leads directly to dissent. So I'll leave this alone.

I'm really curious about this Killing Floor game. I see a lot of people on my Steam friends playing it.

Uh... ya, my previous comment still stands. You said you didn't want to debate, so I said you shouldn't have said it if you didn't want to spark some sort of conflict. Simply stating that your comment is in conflict with your goal, never once restricted your freedom of speech.

But whatever, if you're done, im done as well.

cody, drblac0... BEHAVE.

seriously stop bickering your going to get the thread locked at this rate.
and yeah KF is a fun game... but it takes to long to level up perks. I'm level 3 support and that took ages, and although it is Co-op it most definitely isn't "Team-Based" like L4D. usually when i play multiplayer everyone runs off and does their own thing, and usually do pretty well too. There isn't much that requires you to stick close together and save each other.
I mean, I've seen wave 9's where everyone would die and one guy that's smart would take down the entire 129 guys left and WIN, then we'd all respawn and move on to the Patriarch.

happened 3 times to me, ad i never played much multiplayer.
Still a good game, but i never got into it enough for it to beat L4D...

I love KF. I really like to perk system and the cooperative game play survival. I prefer it over L4D because it doesn't get old to me. I never wanted to play L4D again after I beat each campaign, because I didn't see the point it playing a campaign again. I tried higher difficulties, but it didn't help.

Which is where KF fills the void, with its tons of community maps.

Guys, knock it off. Nobody cares about who's ego is bigger here. It doesn't matter, at all.

KF was released before L4D. Both games rock, and I rock them both.

Different type of games here. Can't compare the two unless you say ooo l4d's survival vs kf. But theyre both good. KF came out ages before L4D as a mod for Unreal

Downloaded it, played it for 30 mins, 1 hour later i got bored as hell.

Dont argue or wel close the thread, no it is not a cheap l4d, in fact l4d ripped alot from the game

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_Floor_(mod)

the original came out in 2005 as a mod and went on from there.

Now to your question yes the game is worth it, with any games its more fun with people and now that they have added 7 more weapons and another class its event better. Who doesnt want to kill endless amounts of specimens with chainsaws, flamethrowes, rocket launchers, pipes ect.

Its a UTengine game so the graphics arent the best in the world but for the price its a great investment due to the replay value of it. quite a few of us play it and your more than welcome to join us in vent and ask for a game

I would play it, but I tried it on the free weekend, but everytime the level ends and tries to change, I get a BSOD, the first time I have had these since using my computer for almost 2 years.

Besides that, I found the game to be a ton of fun, especially for like $20. The replay value is pretty high and the concepts of the game would be fun when played with other people (college internet stops that though, since I get 1700 ping from peoples servers :( )
