I already bought it but haven't had a chance to download it yet, anyone got any news for me? Was it worth the buy?

Its a great game but it favors mages badly. Melee-based characters are at a noticable disadvantage until late-game.

I have played through three origins, for a total of about 30 hours now and I love it. The story is fantastic. The sound and music are spot on. The graphics work well (it may not be the best looking game out right now). It has crashed during gameplay once, though I do get an annoying crash on exit lately. The combat is fun and engaging.

This one may get RPG of the year. I need to get deeper into the story to be sure.

Yea, it deff worth a buy. I like to play zoomed all the way out & it def reminds me of the old RPG's (BG, ID, etc). But even if you arent into those old RPG's zoomed in it plays like a modern game. Its a good story, fun gameplay & fantastic artwork. It's one of the best games I've played in a while

QFT.
The story is awesome. There's just no other way to describe it, or at least I can't.

It looked like a cool game, but I watched the trailors and looked into it a bit at PAX. And I can't say I'm into sex with video game characters, story related or otherwise.

Honestly? Why in the hell can't people make a good RPG these days without having people sleep with eachother. The whole "relationships" thing as part of immersion is crap.

It's really a shame, because I thought it looked really cool.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. The immersion is in fact improved. This is ultimately a game about people and people are social, ergo people do have intimate relationships.

The physical relations that are possible are optional. You do not have to pursue any romantic relationship. It is very clear when a party member is falling for you and you can choose not to pursue that dialoge option; furthermore, my understanding is that the 'scene' is very abstracted and not in anyway graphic or explicit (I cannot say for sure, I'm just reporting what I've read on the forums).

I can think of a few reasons not to like Dragon Age: party based (I prefer a single character to control), mage-bias in early to mid-game, it is a branching-linear game (by this I mean you are offered choices on when and where to adventure and then the game proceeds in a linear fashion from that point, you then return to the choice after that section is completed). I for one would not pass-up on this title because of sexual content. You can just choose not to play that way and you will miss nothing.

Dragon Age is one of the best rpg's i've played in years and i highly recommend it to anyone who loves games

Meh, my only real complaint is that some of the DLC is bugged & doesnt work on PC for some & we gotta wait for a fix

I've played through the Dragon Age campaign with an elven mage, logging over 50 hours while doing so. It is one of the most epic rpgs, if not the most epic rpg ever made.
If you liked Baldur's gate, Neverwinter Nights, or the Witcher, you'll love this.
Highly recommended.

Pure win.

Ya, I recommand you to create a mage/ or a warrior ( Shield/ 1H spec ) It's an awesome game, you will have " great time " with it :)

i have played it over 100 hours the past 2 weeks have almost all the achievements possible and finished 3 characters and working on 2 others it is awesome cause everything thing u do changes the ending to the story including the sidequests and the relationships u build but i recommend being a warrior with a 2 handed spec. using taunt/threaten with the whirlwind attack late in the game is sweet

I just started this game and I LOVE IT! The story is amazing and all the options u can pick from is crazy! I highly recommend buying this game!

Its good. I've had numerous problems with graphic glitches, crashes, and messed up dialog scenerios. A word of warning dont use the toolkit. They messed up the core rules in the toolkit and it will render your game un playable.

Here's what I ended up writing as a review in another section of the eGO forums.

D.T.S.'s thoughts on Dragon Age: Origins

As for being put off by the option to have sex in the game, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Try the game anyway. Once you play it, and see how organically the characters interact you'll probably realize it wasn't some "omg boobz" marketing ploy. It actually works, and as many have mentioned is only something you end up doing if that's what you're really pushing for.

If it still bothers you after that then either...

A) You might not be M enough for this M rating

or

B) Hopefully you don't know anyone that's dating/married/in their mid-teens to early eighties/usually getting drunk at a college party.

I'm exaggerating there, just to get you to play a game I'm 99.9% certain that you'll really enjoy. In all seriousness, once you play the game you'll be able to see that it's not some GTA-style Hot Coffee porn romp.

And to be quite honest....the relationships flow so smoothly, and you get to make so many other choices that it might actually be really, really weird if you didn't get the option to sack up with someone if you really wanted to.

It actually fits in well, and it's definitely not what you'll look back on and remember about the game.

Not like some gratuitous female shower scenes in anime films. I mean, seriously. What's up with that?

Note: Even if you get frustrated, don't use cheating scripts, cheat engine, etc. They may be fun for a while, but they WILL ruin your experience. I'm taking a month break from dragon age because I ruined mine... made a mage with all attributes 125.
