AMD 5800-series prices going up...

AMD is raising prices, plus supply is low. Doesn't look good for any future price decrease, especially without competition from NVidia.

Don't know if they're doing it purposely but they are definitely going up.
Plus the fact that there is an extremely high demand for them and a low supply which is another factor in why the prices are getting driven up.
If ATI fixes the supply shortages and ends up getting excess........thats when the prices will drop.
As for the article and all that, supposedly when the new 5950/5970 cards come out (they are actually 5850x2/5870x2) they are supposed to drive the prices down from what i've heard.

Its the simple term or w/e of high demand + low supply = higher prices
