So yesterday I had this great plan to get off from work and play TF2 for hours on end, till my eyes were so heavy even little toothpicks holding them open would snap. It was going to be a great day indeed (because TF2 is my anti-drug..).

Anyway, I wake up at 7:20 as per usual, more awake than usual, and swing my feet over the futon (yes, I sleep on my futon instead of my bed..it's comfy! :)) and....*splish splosh*

My apartment flooded for the second time in three months!!

We thought the problem was solved because the first time it happened, the owner replaced the standard hose with a copper one, but the fitting gave, so it was pretty much a waste. Of course, the first thing I did was run (almost slipping and killing my freakin self) and unplug my UPS. Then ran (almost freakin slipping again! :cursing:) and unplugged the home theater power strip.

I really didn't want to deal with it so after picking up some socks and boxes off the wet floor, I took a shower and went to work anyway, leaving a message for the apt owner. When I got home, I fired up my 1.5 gallon shop vac and started suckin up the water. About half an hour later I decided to buy a bigger shop vac because 30 seconds of suction and 30 seconds of draining the vac and putting it back was killing me lol. I bought a 5 gallon one at walmart for about 90 bucks and I totally love it.

I don't know, I just wanted to share this with everyone and um..remind them to keep power strips, UPS, etc like two or three inches off the floor (somehow)..you know, just in case a stupid pipe bursts :)

In case your curious how much water there was:

That is terrible! I'm sorry man. Now I know to unplug stuff if my house/apartment ever floods. Thanks!
