Mic Problems

Ok so i got my new comp set up and its running windows 7. I took all my cstrike folders from my old comp and replaced the new folder with the old ones. So i go into CS:S and my headset works, except for the mic. Weird thing is that the test works in steam settings in the main menu, but the test does not work in CS:S or in game. If anyone could give any advice, it would be much appreciated.

Most likely your microphone for the headset is not selected under sound settings. Go to Control Panel>Hardware and Sound> Sound>Recording and select your device for input.

If the device does not show up under the recording settings and the microphone is connected via a 3.5mm input, reinstall your sound card driver. If the device hooks up via USB, check the support page for your particular headset to troubleshoot the issue, either with a driver install or some other tweak.

Still does not work, Im going to try re-installing CS:S and see how it goes
