Monitor/Graphics Card Issue

Hey guys,

Right to the problem. I just bought a GeForce GTX 275 and it seems to clash with my monitor a little. I have a Hannspree 28" (27.5" viewable) monitor that should easily display 1920 x 1200, however, with this new card, I can only display in 1680 x 1050 without the clock/icons falling off of the screen. I used to have a 8800 GT until I killed that the other day, running in the 1920 x 1200 resolution.... Not sure what the problem here is... Ideas?

Also, if anyone knows of a (free) program that can go in and tell me which drivers I need to update/etc, please let me know.. It would even help if I could download right from the program too...

Still falls off the screen. And, when I was referring to the program, I wasn't talking about just nVidia drivers (Yes, it came with a disk.).. Just an overall program that will look at all of my drivers....
 
I know there is a program, but I don't remember the name of it. You should uninstall your old GPU drivers and actually you can uninstall your new GPU drivers while you're at it. Then reinstall just your new drivers and see if it resolves the issue.
 
If you are connecting via HDMI to your monitor then there can be overscan issues. I've encountered that alot lately. If you connect it via VGA does it display everything? If so then it is likely an overscan issue with your monitor. You can either correct it in your driver settings or your monitor menu settings
 
ATI cards have a setting in the Catalyst Control Center for underscaling/overscaling that let you adjust it to fit. Nvidia should have the same sort of setting in the ForceWare drivers if I remember correctly.

I have to underscan my TV when I'm using it as a monitor.

As the above said about the scaling, there is an option in Nvidia control panel. In vista i had to make an adjustment to my screen on my 23.6' Asus 1080p. If you look around enough , you will find it and it is not hard to find. A screen with sliders on it will show and you can stretch it any which way you need. 28 inches of screen is alot of real estate , thats one thing i was thinking of doing next is either a triple monitor setup or something like a 32" 120hz LCD.
