New Rig Opinons

On the surface, it looks like a fine budget machine to buy if you don't want to build one yourself. Though I am not a fan of the case styling (it looks like a Raidmax case to me, which isn't the best quality case to buy), the rest of the PC innards look fine. Might wanna buy another HDD and boost that storage capacity if you like things to end in TB and not GB. ;) There isn't a monitor included and the keyboard/mouse looks to be just generic models; nonissues if you already got your own to use.

P.S. I didn't do a price comparison with buying the parts on your own.
 
I appreciate the opinion. And it's not that im "lazy" or anything about building my own rig, but I want one thats reliable but fairly good with my budget. And yeah I might be buying a TB HD someday.
 
The one you had built before, although I'd choose different parts, was MUCH better. ANYTHING pre-built in the computer world that meets a "budget" will be less than what you are bargaining for.

Notice the build I did for you includes specific Manufacture parts? It's because that's in whom I trust!

I've built literally hundreds of custom machines and had thousands of pre-built machines hit my bench. There's a night-and-day difference in the workmanship of the components. This of course will lead to your stability issues and 'oops' I need a new...(fill in blank here) after the first year.

A little harsh of an opinion, but I don't get paid to pull punches. ;)

Looking from the pictures, it's a Gigabyte motherboard. Specifically it's this one, judging by the Chipset (AMD 770) and the amount of SATA ports (6).

The case is this one here.

The RAM is listed on their site as either Corsair or "Major Brand."

I'd guess that the hard drive is a Western Digital based on the other (mechanical) hard drives that they have listed, which should be fine.

I would probably be more concerned with what brand the PSU is than anything else. I couldn't figure out which one it is by the pictures. Even on their official site, it's the choice between a 700 watt PSU (no name given) or a Thermaltake Toughpower 700 watt for $102 more.

Interestingly enough, the same system on CyberPower's site is $753 (they don't include Windows 7 or the quad core in the original price of $536) and free ground shipping. (edit: nevermind this line)I mean with the extra money saved, you can put it towards upgrading it a bit or other stuff ;). I had gone backwards which took out the Win7 addition(/edit)

I run a computer business, and I'm sorry if you thought I implied that eGO compensates me in any way financially.

My corporate clients pay me for my experience and knowledge of how components interact with each other. In my experience, pre-built computers are cheaper because manufactures PAY builders to use specific components over others for advertisement purposes. (Yes, even NewEgg....ask anyone with sponsors....you don't get sponsorship without rules. I'm sure eGO would back this up.)

If they are using Corsair Memory (my personal preference) I can bet that it's a higher-latency chipset and in NO way comparable to the custom parts for LESS $$ that I posted earlier.

It is, of course, up to the guy with all the $$. However, if you'd like to take me up on the free advice, you won't be disappointed.

EDIT/ADDITION* I will, free of charge, custom-spec any build for =(eGO)= members. All you have to do is ask in another thread. ;)

The biggest flaw about buying a prebuilt computer, is the motherboards are always complete junk. So, don't expect to overclock. But, it is a great buy if you wouldn't want to build one. Makes me angry because I bought one last year for this price and it's already outdated.
 
my opinion is
dont buy comps online
go to a shop
you will save aloooooooooooooot money
and they give you alot hints about what works good together and so on etc etc

What? I never built a rig before so i don't know what your talking about. And also, the reason I don't build my own rig is because it tends to go way up to $1600 which I can't afford. I also have a cousin who's familiar with computers so I don't need to worry about all that "oops" crap cause he can tell me that. And then sure it will lead to new parts but I don't care cause I need a new computer that's good but meets my budget. And this seems fairly good. Also, there may only be 1 review, but it's not negative. The person seemed happy because it worked.

AGAIN! I'm not LAZY! I don't want to build my own rig if there is already a pre-built one. Yes I know! It's better to build your own but I think I'll be just fine.

If a build meets your needs and you're happy, then you have wisely spent your money! However, from a techie standpoint, we have our reservations for a reason.

HUGE RULE for builders like myself: If it makes the customer happy, then a good job was accomplished! ;)

NOTE* If you'll permit me, give me a budget and I'd be more than happy to hit your target range with better components as well as help you with assembly. ;)

I've tried many places to customize and still have better prices, so far this is the cheapest one. The last rig I tried building that was better than this was $1500.
But you have a point. I think I'll take another look for cheaper ones. Thanks Pew.

And I went to CyberPower and tried customizing one. It's almost the exact same thing but the price went up here are the specs :

Well like I said earlier...It's a good buy, minus the motherboard it comes with which is still decent.

lol sorry for earlier. And yeah I plan on buying the one from Newegg and maybe in the future just replacing some things with better parts. :)
 
Well I say go for it. It has a good power supply for future upgrades if needed. The 9800GT is still an amazing card, especially for the price. Almost top of the line AMD processor. So you should be set for awhile. 500GB's is plenty enough storage, also.

I appreciate the support :) and yeah, my cousin has almost the exact same computer, just without Windows 7. And he can run almost everything on full high, except Crysis :P and I was also planning on getting a 1TB HDD sometime so the 500GB will last me quite a while :)
