First come, first served. The date and time has been finalized. For more information on this Soldier training event, please click here. (Thank you Tc for the thread!)
*I need more time to be accustomed to the new Soldier unlocks when they get released. Until then, I will be teaching about the Soldier's default weapons
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I want start a "Soldier tip" class, basically tips, pointers, strategies, etc on how to play a Soldier. The timezone I'm in is EST, and the classes will be basically be on Saturdays and Sundays with varying times depending on everyone's availability (if they're interested)
Why should you learn from me?
- I can assure you that I've made numerous people rage if they're on the opposite team of me.
- 580+ hours spent on the class.
- Competitive (6 vs 6 CEVO-rules play, ammomod) and pub experience.
- I don't vent camp to get my kills. Camping is not my style, however Soldier can be used effectively to camp.
- Proficient at rocket jumping and juggling/airshooting AND weapon usage(not just simple rocket jumps)
- Played numerous hours on other classes in addition to Soldier, enough to know strengths and weaknesses of the Soldier against each class. (Almost 300 hrs spread out on other classes.
-"Smart" compression blasting Pyros who reflect your rockets, then axetinguish you or compression blast THEN axetinguishing you? No problem. Don't be scared, they can be defeated.
- Have experience in both play-styles of Soldier: both as a roaming Soldier (w/o a medic), and pocket (with a medic, and I play with this a lot. I feel I can contribute with a pocket medic).
- If you've seen me play, give a testimonial on "how I am".
- Ask around for testimonials. (Such as the DUCE's post. =)
- I play, and am proficient, in maps other than Blackmesa and 2fort! *gasp*
- Favourite non-pub map: cp_badlands
- Favourite attack/defend map: cp_gravelpit (there needs to be more maps like this)
There is much more to it than spamming rockets. After you've participated in the training event, you will come into realization on how much skill it takes to truly shine. During the series of classes, I will teach you the things I know, and with the knowledge I've given you, you will practice. And the result of that is skill.
This thread is only for people who are interested. Remember, during the classes when they happen, eGO rules still apply.
