I set up a new computer and began playing DOD. I didn't realize, because of the lack of technical knowledge that the binds and the keys had to be set on the new computer to work in the game. I confirmed in my cfg. file the "`" key was set for the console, but it will not come down during the game. Looking for other suggestions to set this key.

try to do it through the menu:

hit escape -> options -> keyboard (tab) -> find the function/action you want -> click it -> click edit key -> press the key you want for that action.

do it through the console:

bind ` "action/function you want bound to this key"

This all comes without knowledge of what action/function you are trying to bind to that key. These should work. Plus the newest addition to steam (about four months ago) the "Steam Cloud" saves all the binds on your games to your account, so you shouldn't have to set them up on your new rig.

If you open the advanced startup options and set:

-console ~

This works to set your " ` " (also " ~ ") key as an in-game bind to your console.

FeatherFoot07's Guide will aide you with launch option settings if you are unfamiliar with the process.

If you are talking about the console all you have to do is enable it:

esc -> options -> (at the bottom) advanced {button} -> enable developer console.
