with a kdr of 3-4 you wont go up in rankings mate, dominations and godlike points and captures are the big hitters, I had once around 200 dominations 1.700 kills with a kdr of 10.00, just went up 2200 points, if you want to go up, be a medic and leech from a good heavy, 3 points for each assist, and 5 for each uber, and the dominations will be fast since you dont get killed a lot standing behind that heavy, I remember when Slaazz healed me he went up 2000 points in like 1 hour.

Also the annoying part of dominations is that if the player get a revenge, you actually lose points as well (2 to be exact, which I think shouldnt be but I wont argue about it) and if you get dominated you will lose 5 points. if you want to be very cheap (which I dont do actually, is to switch teams if you dominated 12-14 people, that way the dominations are cleared, you can dominate them again and you wont lose points for that revenge, but if you do that you are really trying xD)

I disagree. I'm ranked 9. And I only have a kdr ratio of 2.25 (now i'm doing about 3-4, trying to pull my kdr from when i first started and had a low kdr). I also have only 8000 kills. I medic sometimes, but fairly little.

Have any of you actually paid attention while I play? Do I ever moan and cry about my rank? Do I ever ragequit due to lost points? Do I sit around in safety while everyone else leads the way to protect my kill/death ratio? Do I sit around all game and sticky-camp for free points? Do I fear leaving spawn without a medic? Do I do any of the regular point-farming actions?

Newp. I get out there, kill people, cap/defend points, and have fun doing it.


Ignore the points and ranks people. They don't mean diddly-squat. You know what I use hlstats for? Weapon stats, kill stats, and awards.

I look at weapon stats so I know how I compare to other people using the same weapons.

I look at kill stats so I know who I've killed and who has killed me. If I've got a 50:1 KDR against a specific person, good! If I've got a 1:50 KDR against someone, that's bad.

I look at awards because for that specific day, you know that you were the best person on the servers for what that award represents.


Once more with feeling: Ignore points and ranks, they're meaningless.
