Caen?

When DOD:Source was created was / is there a map for CAEN? Caen was one of the original classic maps and played very fair. Didn't know if it was released with the game or if anyone has made the replica.

There is a version we actually ran briefly on one of our DoD servers made by one of our members. Unfortunately, the map did not end up being very popular amongst players. The map was never actually released by Valve as a standard map, but if you are interested in acquiring it just to try it out, you can go to one of the various map sites for DoD on the Internet and locate a version. The one I have is dod_caen_b07 I believe.

good old caen. i do miss it. i also miss the british and the german paratrooper classes. i sure do miss the british on flash.

Caen was the best map ever. I remember playing that on a 24x7 Caen server back in the 1.3b days, some 8 years ago!

I tried a remake, dont know if it was the one talked about above but it wasnt like caen at all. There needs to be a version that is *exactly* like the original. No remake or fancier detail. That map was about as good as it gets.

absolutely loved that map...loved usin the enfield rifle..it was the absolute best rifle...i know we cant get a 24/7 caen server...but a caen event night would be cool some time...just throwin that out there....

that makes two of us...the first map that i played extensively...and i must say that remake that someone posted looks good...almost enough to bring a tear to my eye...

im gonna have dowload the old game again so i can go play on caen

You can more easily download the remake of the Source version fyi. We could play it as an event. I had previously posed to get that on the Event Server with my map pack, which still has yet to have a chance to be uploaded to the server. About 50+ maps.

Caen was an awesome map, I still go back and play the original sometimes. Those scoped FG-42's were murder .
