A warning...

I wonder if someone hacked IWnet because of all the issues and uproar surrounding MW2? Wouldn't surprise me.

i donno if they put a trojan into the system.
might just be a trojan host.
oh well i got it for the 360 so im all good ^^

Yeah I think I mis-worded it, it's more like the player has the trojan itself and because of P2P you get it.

just another reason why P2P sucks. Fail IW Fail I wonder how many people get banned before they can fix it or just down the P2P

Yet another reason was COD has disappointed me. Looks like I dodged a bullet :)

Lets not turn this into a IW fails/MW2 drama thread. Frankly this is a potentially serious issue that needed to be addressed warning people about the possibility that this could happen to them and so far it's on the fast track to getting locked or deleted.

Yes, please do not get this locked, I'm trying to save people the pain of getting a trojan and having to re-install. :D

positive reports 28/37

That is what I sent to virustotal.com which I rely along with my NOD32 which picked it up as I was playing the game. The sucker even tried to go thru my network to my other PCs. I trust NOD32 but also go to Virus Total. I learned that if 2/3 of the scanners pick it up its malicious.

Thankfully NOD32 stops it but I am getting it every now and then that I play MW2 ONLY.

I am not playing until I hear more than just a "False Positive" because that is not enough for me.

Honestly, im not surprised and klammy warned me already before :P

you should still be careful, it's probably gonna be rare to get it and from wat they say, you'll only get it if you play with the hacker or join his hosted game. It's best to take with a grain of salt and just watch out.

Even if they claim that it is a false positive the fact of the matter is that it can be done. So people will now try to get more malicious content out on IWnet. That is my concern.

Epic it only applies to MW2 since it uses P2P to host games not dedicated servers like COD4. So no worries with COD4.

The same thing was spotted with W@W. Epic.

Because there has never ever been an issue with a game with dedicated servers having malicious content. Theres no way it would be possible for someone hosting their own server to add malicious content.

BTW, Clarko. The false positive is probably coming from the update they added to cod to lock down the console/ fix the pirates ability to play online. That is why it just started acting up and everyone seeing it, because the day the patch came out.. it popped up.

I have not heard of no such reports extending out of MW2. If you can provide information that would be appreciated.
