Borderlands Singeplayer Issue

Hey guys. So I'm having this problem with Borderlands where I try to launch my singleplayer game. It gets to the Loading screen with wherever I last stopped in-game, then the screen goes black. Anyone know what's the problem? Thanks.

Hate to say it, but again with 'check your permissions'. There's a chance the Borderlands program is calling for a file that it doesn't have permission to read.

Unfortunately, I don't know much more about that particular program. That is, however, a common issue and solution on other programs that I am familiar with.

How do I check my permissions?

To change file and folder permissions:

1: Open Windows Explorer, and then locate the file or folder for which you want to set permissions. To open Windows Explore click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Windows Explorer.

You may also navigate to your game directory using My Computer on your desktop.

2: Right-click the file or folder, click Properties, and then click the Security tab as shown below.

3:Be sure to allow your computer's user Full Access to the files and folders in your game directory.

I only have a Sharing tab where Security should be. I can't do the rest of it.

You will have to have your computer administrator change those permissions settings then.

If you are the sole-owner of the machine, then I can assist you with unlocking those functions.

The easiest way, however, is to log in to a user account with administrative rights and make the changes from there. Be sure to set the user you normally game with the proper rights, not just the administrator account.
