I realized that there was going to be a pandemic of different L4D2 issues threads, and I figured I'd help control the clutter by creating a BIG Ol' thread for it.
I will check back here often, and I recommend you do the same.
When posting an error, please be specific. Say what happened before and after the error. And posting pictures of the error messages is excellent.
(Hit the printscreen button on the keyboard, open up paint, hit paste, and the screen image should come up. Crop out the specific error box or any other images we need that are relevant to the problem)
Errors list:
After playing for about 2 hours, this pops up. I followed the link, but it was broken.
General Fixes List:
A great 'blanket' way to fix problems with L4D2 is to right click on the game in the steam games list, hit properties, go to the 'Local Files' tab, and hit 'Verify integrity of game cache'. Most of the time, it'll find one or two files that are corrupt and fix them.
Also, if you are getting hiccuping and in game freezing (where the screen locks up and the sounds go like 'hello my name is jo-jo-jo-jo-jo-jo-joe'), go to the ingame options menu, video settings, advanced settings, and disable Multicore Rendering.
Now, go ahead and post your problems. I'll check this thread back many times a day, and I hope other people will too.
