Does anyone know of a powerful yet free registry cleaner that I can download? Im looking into getting something to supplement my current computer cleaning programs.

Just be careful with registry cleaners. Bad things can happen.

Yeah kinda forgot to mention that

CCleaner gives you an option to backup your registry just in case everytime you clean

Yep, CCleaner is the best cleaner.

And as someone mentioned, these things CAN be bad. I used CCleaner and never had any problems. Then I started messing with other PC "Optimizers" and they eventually caused a hardware/software failure on my computer. Not really sure how it works, but the tech support guy said that registry cleaners are the worst thing for your computer.

I stick with CCleaner :D

Like the others have said CCleaner is the way to go. Don't download any of those programs you see on TV or from pop-up ads. You will get spyware.

ah the olny reason i still have windows is for games so if it feels slow i just wipe it out and reinstall it's a sinch since all of my personal data is on a separate hd from the operating systems

I use the registry cleaner that is apart of Glary's Utilities. The program does many other things but I mainly use it for the Tracks Eraser and Registry Cleaner. The software company offers a free edition and a pro edition with a 1 time buy for all future updates.

I have also used the software to clean out duplicate files.
