Don't remember getting first place

As the name suggests, I don't remember ever getting first place. A couple days ago I checked my awards and all of the sudden I had GAS (Gold Combat Action Star Medal) I was freaking out! I don't remember ever doing well enough to get first place. At the time, I was a ct on dust and I was around the middle of the scoreboard on a 18v18. SAS rookie was leading the team as always (no problem there though). Now you see my problem. Rookie basically dominates the game 95% of the time (that I see anyway). There was literally no reason that I could have a GAS award on fbg. Any ideas on how I got this award?

My guess is FBG went down/reset close to the end of the round. So if you played well on the lat couple rounds you could have got a GAS.

u most likely had more headshots than rookie did for that round headshots count more than just normal kills on fbg when i play i am always in the top 3 in overall kills for the round however i dont win many medals cause i get headshots as often i get killed (about 10-15) which is never enough on dust2 u need about 20-25 headshots a round to get first more often than not

Yea.... I don't really get that many headshots even though I should (I use the mp5 a bit too much and aim for the chest lol)

It's possible that people with higher scores than you left, and you didn't notice?
Also, the top player is not always the one who is ranked first on the teams. I've seen instances where someone with a lower score than me would be placed higher.
