Wasn't the bat a pre-order only thing for l4d2?

I got Left 4 Dead 2 last week for my xbox, and its great.

But I noticed in the first level, there was a bat. I don't remember any redeem code to show I pre-ordered it, so I thought it was a glitch

But it turns out the pre-order bat bonus is just for pc.

So the only pre-order thing that PC got out of it that others don't is The hat for tf2. :D
 
You get a special bat in if you preordered. Everybody gets a bat.

was it just looks or special damage boost or something?
 
whats the difference with the bat? ive played tons of times and all the bats look the same.

BTW the ninja sword should be the exclusive preorder melee weapon, not the bat.
 
The bat can kill multiple enemies, similar to the katana (stop calling it a ninja sword) and the chainsaw.

Melee weapons such as the pan and the nightstick have a shorter range.

But how come people without preordering it can still see the bat? Is the preorder version better?
 
theres no non-preorder version i dont think..............this is how it goes, if someone your playing with pre-ordered L4D2 and got the bat from pre-order, then everyone playing in their game will also receive the bat and get to use it.

And yes, the katana is epic and should probably be the exclusive weapon.

But really, the Katana is amazing, and like they said before the specialty bat rips off limbs while the regular one does not!
 
i call it the big sharp thingy. XD

and yea, if one player preordered, the rest of the players get to use it. so for whoever didnt pre order, will you still get one cause in every game you play, about 90 percent of the time, you will get a guy who preordered. :3

Theres one bat, the one that came bundled with the L4D2 preorder

Let me explain

Lets say you play a campaign, and you were the only person who preordered. So in the pile of melee weapons that you may come across, you might see a bat. You can pick it up, and so can they.
 
uh foxhound.. i believe everyone says that, not just ellis.

and also what about the Cricket bat? i just want to make sure that this is about 2 different (and yet same) bats, and not the Cricket bat and the pre-order bat...

and i think machete is better than katana :biggrin:
 
EVERYONE: He has the 360 one. There is no preorder bat on 360.

Right. Everyone who's said that if someone in the game pre-ordered, everyone gets it is wrong.
Preorder bat =< Katana
