so i went on the tf2.com site today and downloaded a mysterious file

<?php
error_reporting( 0);
require( 'config/config.php' );
require( 'includes/commonutils.php' );
require( 'includes/mysqlaccess.php' );

$preview = ( IS_ADMIN ? chkReq( 'preview' ) : false );

$dbConn = new CMySQLAccess( $db_host, $db_user, $db_pass, $db_db );

$query = "SELECT nId, nTitle, nContent1, nBlurb, nFakeAuthor, nAuthor, nCreated FROM news WHERE nOnTF2Blog = 1 AND nVisible = 1 AND nCreated <= now() ORDER BY nCreated DESC";
if ( $preview )
{
$query = "SELECT nId, nTitle, nContent1, nBlurb, nFakeAuthor, nAuthor, nCreated FROM news WHERE nOnTF2Blog = 1 ORDER BY nCreated DESC";
}

$results = $dbConn->QueryAndFetchResults( $query );

$posts = array();
foreach( $results as $row )
{
$author = ( empty( $row['nFakeAuthor'] ) ? $row['nAuthor'] : $row['nFakeAuthor'] );
$author = ( empty( $posterNames[$author] ) ? $defaultPosterName : $posterNames[$author] );
$posts[] = array(
'id' => $row['nId'],
'title' => $row['nTitle'],
'content' => $row['nContent1'],
'blurb' => $row['nBlurb'],
'author' => $author,
'timestamp' => strtotime( $row['nCreated'] ),
);
}

require( 'templates/home.php' );

thats what the file contains
there was an empty blog entry too
just a new line and the todays date
i thought its a bug so i went away from the site
some hours later i took a look on the page again and no more mysterious file DL, no more empty blog entry

hmmmm
i checked the steam forums and that happend to more people

thats a.....job for the ghostbusters no?

hmmm. interesting. The team might have wanted to post something, but something else came up. I assum something new's brewing seeing as how l4d2 is out.

I noticed everyone was in a flurry on the steam forums. This block of code, however, just looks like an empty container for data, and I'm sure a lot more people see it like this than I.

Interesting; the fact that they were toying around with the live version at all is intriguing.

It's Valve messing with us again. Like always! This is actually what makes me love Valve. They LOVE to mess with their players.
