I know a little of both, but i don't really know which is easier for me to learn by just reading books.

I'm sure it'll be difficult no matter what, but which one is more beginner friendly. (Absolutely no programming nohow of any sort.)

Any recommendations on books(e-Books preferred).

The Universe is programmed in C/C++, that's all I have to say...

also:
C# was created by satan (Microsoft) specially for the programming of hell...

well... on a more serious note, it really depends on what you want to do, if all you want to do is gain some programming knowledge I'd say C++ since imo C# isn't all that great.

The general web based tutorials are actually good imo

Haha xD I'll be using Microsoft's Visual Studio Express if that matters lol, made by MS xD

MS's VS isn't actually as bad as I expected, so you are forgiven...

BUT
while you using VS stay away from MS's attempts to get you to use Visual Basic,
if you ever think about learning Visual Basic, I shall never talk to you again :P

I'll never learn VB xD Don't worry :O I couldn't bare not being able to speak to you :(

I've taken a look at it before, didn't like it.

I've used basic, but not visual basic.

I'd say what is it, but then someone would have a drama heart attack and die.

Where might I go to download C++ and all required tools.

yes... this too...
my brain prevented me from posting any MS links :P

I have a strong dislike for M$ :) But a monopoly is a monopoly :(

I'm going to try and find a book on C++, I was reading How to program in C++ by some guy I can't remember, the book read like you were in a classroom with him, I liked that method xD, but it's from like 2004 or 5.

Actually, I would start with basic C first.

Get a understanding on the basics of different types of variables, strings, arrays, and functions. Then study the basics of pointers.

C++ uses all of the above. After you understand that...I'd start to study the C++ side of it..classes, inheritance, polymorphism, etc..

there are thousands of books and web examples.
