Help :( mod not working

I have this game called medieval 2 total war, which is a real time strategy based game where you build cities and armies and cap them and you fight epic battles with thousands of people......... so I got this mod where it turns it to LOTR world... I did everything it said, then when i tried to run it i got this error " Medieval 2 total war has crashed from unnexpected error and will now close.." something like that....... I googled it and updated my drivers as it was reccomended but nothing happened anyone know what to do :/ It took me half a day to download the mod and fix the stuff... :/

What mod was it exactly? You also might try finding a possible website that the mod creators might have and posting on their forums as well.

Have you also updated the game to the current version available some mods require certain versions.

both games have the patches up to date..:/ this is the error I get : Medieval Total war has uncovered an unspecified error and will now exit"

btw im running windows vista 64bit, nvidia gforce gtx260 with sound and graphics drivers up to date...... I reinstalled the game, everything went where it was supposed to but still the same error, game loads for 1-2 seconds then crashes to desktop with the error I gave above.

DO you know of the mod having any viruses and having scanned it with AVG/Avast/Avira?

The issue is fixed, I just switched the files in folders from one of the expansions and the mod ^_^
