Sweet deal on a video card.

It has 1gb on memory and 1.8ghz core clock speed, for only 79$ after a 20 dollar rebate, I fell in love instantly.

Not really that great of a deal to be honest. I picked up a second 8800GT( the 9800GT is a re-branded 8800GT) a few(4?) months ago for $65(not a rebate either.

Good card though.

except no MIR or free shipping.
you could probably find an 8800/9800 for cheaper, or an even better card for like 120-150. but if that suites you fine, go for it

Almost all of the other 98's I found had half or 1/3 of the core clock speed, and only 512 memory.

It's an ok deal. The 9800's are normally about $100 these days. If you like rebates, it gets warmer.

It was a galaxy GTS 250, i think the deal ended though, saw it during black friday

^ Now that is a rebate worth going for. $10-20 imo isn't really worth the trouble.

It's probably worth noting that 1.8Ghz is actually the memory clock, the core clock is 550Mhz, which is lower than the usual 600 for a stock 9800GT. This is a "green" card though, they don't use an additional power plug and the clocks are generally lower for these cards so they draw less power from the PCI-e bus.

I think these cards are marketed more towards the HTPC crowd...

i was just about to note this, saw that you said in the original post bout 1800 core clock and i was like, uhh there is no card that has that or can even handle that probably...and yes, the 1800 is the memory clock, core is 550 which is not very good
