Man, idk how you all get such great frames. I get pretty good ones. I have a:
Biostar 4890
Core i7 920 2.67 gHz
6 GB Corsair Dominators
Windows Vista Home Premium

I have a 28 inch monitor so, running 1920x1200, honestly my frames are ok.
I get <80 in Cod 5, roughly the same in cod 4
and always 100-180 in tf2
but im stuck at 59-60 no matter what in L4D2.

Its more than playable, but getting over 100 frames is nice too.

turn off vsync and it'll go up, that is restricting your frames to your monitor refresh rate, which obviously is set to 60

funny tho how my current OCed 8600 gets bout same frames as somebody that listed their 8800 for CSS.

theres nothing wrong with vsync if ur comp can run it, it helps with tearing on your screen and makes everything look better when theirs action and stuff. You can leave it off though if u dont get tearing and if ur comp is a bit slow.

ya you can leave it on. i've never played a game in my life where i ever needed it tho, so i find it pointless personally. but if you have it on and you go below 60 frames with vsync on, it will drop to 30 frames. it will never change from 30-60 frames with vsync on

I used Vsync in MW2 yesterday and wow did it mess everything up. The control sensitivity was all out of wack, so I would have to move the heck out of the mouse (I'm used to high sensitive) and it looks overall smoother with it turned off. So I guess I'll be leaving it off.
