I dunno whats going on...tried playing css today and I get a ridiculous amount of choke...in the SS it says something about failed reading message from the server

Any ideas?

I did some googling for you, and more than one person has fixed this same issue by changing their 'rate'. Set 'rate' to "rate 25000".

Try these settings:
rate 20000
cl_updaterate 30
cl_cmdrate 66
