HELP OMG! My computer hates DOD:S

OK,
my dod:s will not launch.

When i launch it the first time (as soon as i turn on my computer)
It says -

"Preparing to launch"

Thinks for a minute

Then the box dissapears and thats the end of that.
Now, I go and try and start cs:s, and it says that dod is still running???

So i cntrl alt delete
Close Hl2.exe

And try and start dod again.

For a brief moment it says "preparing to launch"
Then it says "the game is currently unavailable"

Idk what to do,

Ive tryed uninstalling dod, that dint work.
So i uninstalled steam, still doesnt work.

Add steam's exe and the dods hl2.exe to your firewall to be allowed.

Make sure you have dods to auto update.(Automaticaly keep this game updated)-or to that affect.

Next add -novid to the start up properties to dods. This disabled the display of the movies(valve creators,steam engine,etc) that start up before the main menu displays. In steam you do this by right clicking dods and going to the properties u should see a set launch properties button and able to add it there. Must have the - also.

Try that and see if that works.

Edit thought of more to do.

Defrag yer HD. Then run the intregrity checker for dods, then defrag dods through steam.

That problem has happened too me... well the unavaible part anyway and it was for dod:s I beleive what I did right away was google it and found that some one had the same problem and all they did was just wait till the next day and it worked so I waited for the next day and it did work. so when it said "the game is currently unavailable" it really ment the game is currently unavailable.

well, i had a simillar issue where a game couldnt start so i updated my drivers and it started sound and video drivers that is

Not Really, When it says the game is unavalible wait 1-2 min and you should be able to launch it right away. and if you have windows vista run as administrater should fix it.

Well whenever a game messes up on me i just reinstall it, sorry i cant help. Oh have you tried smacking your computer, you have to keep them in line!!! :chair:
