This is going to be an excellent card.
Marcus "Big Baby" Jones vs Matt "Meathead" Mitrione - I see this fight starting off very quickly, with both guys throwing big punches. This fight can go either way because both guys are dangerous in different spots. If Mitrione hits Jones with a solid punch there's a good chance he'll knock Big Baby out pretty quickly, especially considering that he has some pretty good takedown defense. Jones doesn't exactly have the best chin, as seen from his first round fight where he was rocked but still managed to win with a straight sexy armbar. He was knocked out by Brenden Schaub after being tagged with a big right hand, something Mitrione is good at. On the other hand Jones has some great trip takedowns and is a MURDERER on the ground. He's the nicest guy in the world who will rip your arm off and beat you with it. I say Jones wins via 1st round submission.
Frankie "The Answer" Edgar vs Matt Veach - I don't know much about Veach outside of his knockout win over Matt Grice, Frankie Edgar on the other hand is a very good fighter. Edgar has only been beaten once in the UFC, that loss being to Grey Maynard. Edgar has had some outright wars against some of the best fighters in the lightweight division. His fight against Tyson Griffin was one of the greatest MMA fights of all time and his upset win over former lightweight champion Sean Sherk proved he is deserving of his top 10 ranking. Edgar wins by Unanimous Decision
Kimbo Slice vs Houston Alexander - This is going to be crazy. Almost guaranteed to get a KO out of this fight. Houston hits like no other fighter and may possibly be the strongest guy in MMA in terms of outright power, I mean dude basically chokeslammed Eric Schafer. The problem is he has little to no ground game and has a pretty suspect chin. Kimbo has a slightly better ground game. His fight against Roy Nelson isn't a good measure of how good he's gotten since his EliteXC days since Big Country is a legit blackbelt and a much bigger HW than slice. Slice, though, also has a slightly suspect chin. Anyone who can be knocked out by a one-footed hopping jab can't have a good chin. He was even knocked down by the Rastaman in his backyard fight videos and knocked out in his fight against Sean Gannon. Kimbo is good but he won't survive a punch from Houston, but I don't think he'll get hit since he has some pretty good head movement and is a lot bigger than Houston. Kimbo Slice by first round TKO.
Matt "The Hammer" Hamill vs Jon "Bones" Jones - This is a hard match for me to pick. I like both of these guys. Hamill has been a consistantly good fighter and has been improving in all of his fights. Despite losing to Rich Franklin he showed that he could absorb a ridiculous amount of damage and was never willing to back down. Jones is a CRAZY striker and has athleticism that has been unseen in MMA (or many sports for that matter.) Bones put on a clinic in his fight against Stephan Bonnar and totally smashed "Irish" Jake O'Brian. Watch the Bonnar fight, there are three moments that will leave your jaw on the floor. The spinning back elbow that nearly knocks Stephan out, the German Suplex, and the double armed over the head suplex. Plus his trips and sweeps are crazy too. I don't believe he'll be able to throw Hamill around like that but Jones has a fighting style that destroys wrestlers with bad striking...which is exactly what Hamill is. It's going to be a tough battle, I say Jones wins by Decision.
Roy "Big Country" Nelson vs Brendan Schaub - It might be surprising but after all of my breakdowns I have little to say about this fight. Nelson is the moon and if he gets anyone on the ground he can get the win. Andrei Arlovski had problems with Nelson's ground game, but his reach and power were too much in the end. Schaub has the same qualities that Arlovski has, but his ground game is kind of suspect. He got controlled and mounted in both of his fights on TUF. I think Schaub can get a TKO win but I have a feeling that Nelson will win by decision.
