l4d vs l4d2

ya red alert 1 is like STILL one of the BEST EVER rts games i've every played. too bad it isn't compatible with windows xp. though i guess i might be able to get it somewhere if i really really wanted.....now i kinda really really want to.
anyway, i was thinking the same question. i want to get into l4d but was wondering which would be best to get. i figured l4d2 would be better because i heard it was basically l4d with just a little extra.
might not be worth getting l4d2 if already having l4d, but i don't and nor does the OP so ya...is the common census l4d2??

i would still go with l4d if u dont have either, its cheaper rite now, still has an active community and will build the plot for l4d2, kinda like watching a movie, the sequel might have better visuals etc but the original lays the foundation and the original experience, sure you could watch/play it outta sequence but overall would be better to start at the beginning, l4d is a totally groundbreaking game and redefined the genre of fps co-op experience, ok single player but better online

i played both, only thing i like about L4D 2, is that you get a chainsaw, and melee weapons kill people. and, i like L4D alot better gameplay and i like the zombies better

Both have their merrits. Left 4 Dead 1 was a good experiance for bunkering down, and holding a position with team fire support. While Left 4 Dead 2 makes that kind of game play obsolete with the spitters, and the running fight scenarios.

In all I think Francis, Zoe and Bill had a better vocal dynamic with one another, particularly Francis and Bill. However Ellis takes a win just on the crazy stuff he says, particularly the whole thing about Kiddie land, and the Stock Car.

The Hard Rain campaign stands out for Left 4 Dead 2 simply because the weather dynamic of it changed everything. Now besides the zombies and special infected you had to deal with a huricanne that obscured your vision and made voice coms all but useless outside.

The wider selection of weapons in L4D2 changed up game play dynamic by giving you a greater range of how you could possible fight, however there is also something that can be said about the 2 weapon sets of L4D1. In the end though, more guns equals Win.

Left 4 Dead 2 feels much more polished to me, giving that greater depth and ground to the real world. Left 4 Dead 1 is still fun, and quite playable, but once you've played the second one the first seems rather easy.
