Friendships....

I just typed in Google "TF2" and I found a news report that says this

After the latest Team Fortress 2 update, newly added sound files sent fans off to speculate that a new game mode was incoming. It was thought that the new mode would be something "Friend" related, as the sound files reference friendships and betrayals. No new game mode! Kotaku provides the following quote from Valve:

"We've got something coming, but it's not a new game mode," Valve's Robin Walker says. "The key to understanding the new sound files is to figure out who's hearing them in-game, and who isn't."

So....bummer....I brought up this thread to talk about what Friendship gamemight be.....

Well, there's already like a billion threads like these, but I'll get to the point. The TF2 blog has a new 'comic' featuring the announcer observing a 'friendship' between RED Demoman and BLU Soldier. The voice clips also come up for certain players--and I can't say for sure if it's for these classes and teams specifically, but my first time hearing them today was as a RED Demo in Egypt. So, take that as you will.

I smell a Soldier/Demo update.

Valve already spoke out and said Steam friends has nothing to do with it. The only known 'friendship' is between RED Demoman and BLU Soldier. And like I said, playing as RED demoman, I heard one of the new voice clips from the announcer.

I just think it's some excuse for the two classes to get updates.

Also, on the last page, the announcer says to 'open channels to our two new best friends', being those two, just to back up that theory.

I played as a Blu soldier and heard the new sounds as well. I have no idea what Valve can do with this. I've thought this through all day, and nothing comes to mind other than a Class update for both, or at least 1 of them.

I thought it was a game mode. Guess not.

We'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah, feels like a class update, but Quick! note how the blog says "friendship ends in One Day".

I posted this in the TF2 Blog thread, ill post it here as well to get some more responses.

Also, if you notice this is taking place when the spy breaks into the blue base and the announcer knows who the spy is disguised as and yet doesnt tell anyone. She speaks to both teams as well. In another pic, the soldier and demo are on badwater and then on gravel pit. The assistants response is weird at best when asked about friendships...she goes from saying skating to looking at gun catalogs and then saying sometimes we just talk, im wondering if the assistant is the pyro seeing as the pyro never made an appearance in the meet the spy vid. Lastly, isnt Saxton Hale the person that sent the pics for the new spy and sniper weapons, perhaps suggesting a new weapon comming for both demo and soldier, money is no object remember. Just causing more speculation

i'd be very surprised if it was FF

they tested FF when before they released the game and it was epic fail which is why it was taken off, hard to believe they'd implement it now
