This isn't a thread about it making the difference, its about which one to use. I just bought an NH-D14 cooler, and it comes with the Noctua top of the line NT-H1 Thermal Compound. Now, I've heard good things about that thermal compound, but I've been using OCZ Freeze, and I still have quite enough left for another use. Now, which should I use, the Noctua or OCZ?

i would use the one that is already applied, because it is applied correctly. its actually quite easy to apply too little yourself, or even too much. the pre-applied will work as intended and takes the user error out of the equation. either way they will both do the same job
i would say the only store bought thermal grease even worth considering to buy is arctic silver. it is basically the only compound that will make a noticeable difference and be worth the price

Use the Noctua, unless you have some MX-2 laying around.
I know how to apply thermal compound, I just wanted to know which of the two was better. It doesn't come preapplied.
Also, I just found exactly what I was looking for, they compared the two here. Looks like I'll be going with NT-H1.

I agree, AS5 is my favorite.. I think someone said the Tuniq outperforms it though...
