I just got my pocket microscope from ThinkGeek and it's amazing! Had some fun looking at some pictures on a calendar and printed words on boxes at full magnification.
You can also use it to look at fine details on printed circuit boards and whatnot
Costs $12
60-100x magnification w/ focus
with a bright white led that runs off three very small button batteries (included)
