More stickies with a slower rate but a more intelligent way of activating them? I like this, I really do. Can't wait to see how it's used in battle. The fact that, apparently, the Demoman now has to stay within line of sight in order to activate the winbombs is a Good Thing... the only thing more annoying than being sniped by somebody 2 miles away is being detonated by stickes either randomly activated or triggered by somebody grabbing the flag. I know some great tactical demomen who will love this.

The Equalizer

I will so be equipping this... if and when Valve designes to give me one at random. As I usually use my trenching tool as a last resort (I play Soldier for the giblets, Mister!), this fits in exactly for how I would use the item. Also, I like the idea of...

1) Rocket jumping twice to move fast, taking damage...
2) Pulling out the Equalizer for the speed boost...
3) Then bathing in the healing light of a medic or dispenser at the front lines.

I'm looking at you, Warpath.

The Buff Banner

Oh, I like this alot as well. Now, instead of just hanging around for the Medics to charge, you'll be getting that soldier up as well, so you can have a dual ubered mini crit buffed charge into the Intel room. I like this alot.

Looks like you lose your shotgun... but again, I play Soldier for the Gibs!

Achievements

Best achievement names: Beat Me Up, Scotty and Semper Fry.

In close runnings was Shorn Connery, S*M*A*S*H, Lady McDeath, Frags of our Fathers, Left 4 Heads, Ride of the Valkartie, Well Plaid!, For Whom the Shell Tolls, Bravehurt, Geneva Contravention, Tam O'Shatter, Brothers in Harms.

A complaint

"Worth a Thousand Words" refers to a Soldier taunt of "21 Gun Salute." Now, I can't really hold the Soldier to military tradition, because he made up all his medals, but a 21-Gun Salute is a Naval Vessel Salute using either ship mounted cannon or land based cannon. What Soldiers receive during funerals is the Three Volley Salute, where an odd number of members, 3-7 of them, fire three volleys of blanks into the air.

While 7 members firing 7 rifles 3 times is indeed 21 shots, the "Gun" in "21 Gun Salute" is using the naval term for artillery pieces.

A question

TF2 has changed quite a bit in the 6 months I was unable to play; the Soldier achievement "Spray of Defeat" refers to gibbing a player with a grenade... when did the Soldier's grenades stop being costume props? Or is that a hint to a future update?

To be fair that is a ton of information to sift through considering the amount of threads and it's pretty easy to miss.

I swear to Gabe that I checked the forum for updates before I hit "Submit Post." However, the topics on here rapidly expand in scope, and as there wasn't a "OMG Awesome Grenade Taunt!" topic I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask :D

However, I agree that the suicide on grenade totally fits the concept of the weapon. And the Soldier's outlook on life, actually.

Yeah well, what did you expect is a new update. Anyway, i love all the weapons except for the sword and the sield (i still havent memorized their names) and im still waiting for the oldier's victory and its surprise weapon.

Did the Demoman get a kill taunt? I didn't spot it.

And I'm excited in general. I'm always wondering, "How will X weapon be used? That looks weird." and then they turn out to just be a ridiculous amount of fun. I always like getting new content ;D

I like and dislike this weapon and what makes me like and dislike it is the fact that you can now detonate enemy stickies...thats right enemy stickies.

Detonate?
Doesn't it say "Destroy"?
Just like every other class, who all have the ability to fire bullets in some manner and destroy stickies.

My only gripe with the new weapons is the stupid shield. It looks like an item they designed purely tomake the sword look cooler, not because it's a good class idea . Being able to run faster than Scouts when charging around, granting crits if you happen to barrel into something? Complete fail :facewall:

there is a real reason valve made the weapon :

Are the new maps getting their own servers? Like the 24/7 Turbine and such? My TF2 is still updating and it's gonna be awhile until I can play. :(
