Background sound for a webpage

Can one of you webpage wizards help me? Is there a way to have Front Page reconize an mp3 for back ground play? It seems to only see wav files and we all know how big they are. I have Front Page from Office XP 2000. Any suggestions?

My first question would be....and for the record I'm not saying this to criticize it's just something to seriously take into mind when you're designing a website and considering adding music as a "feature"

Why do you need music on a page? Typically unless the site is 100% music related I would never advise someone to put music on their page (and even if it was 100% a music site it should be used sparingly) as it increases loadtimes dramatically, is incredibly distracting to the actual content of the page...not to mention that people will tend to click away from the page when you're music tries to take over what music they are listening to at their computer.

There's also the fact that not all browsers parse music the same way and there can be errors generated by players...etc..

Again...this is just my design preference...I tend to hate music on websites so I'm admittedly biased towards not including it, but I do have legitimate reasons for that stance.

Also glad you didn't take offense to my comments. I tend to get passionate when it comes to web-design (it's part of my job, and I manage several websites)...and sometimes there are aspects of design that certain designers take to heart and that's just one of mine.
