the sockets should have writing next to them on the mobo most modern mobos use PCI and PCI express 16x slots for vid cards but most vid cards take a pci express
if your mobo is old u may see AGP as the slot for your vid card though but no new mobos use AGP
this may help you tell alittle bit just by general size
