Tired of that awful music that plays when a team wins? Here's how to change it:
If you know how to edit an mp3, then grab 2 mp3s of your choice and make 2 clips from them about 20 seconds or so long. (You can make them longer, but it'll drag out into the next round.)
Then rename one clip: german_win
and the other one: us_win
Now, put them in your :\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\yourname\day of defeat source\dod\sound\ambient
If the ambient folder isn't there, then just create it. Place the two mp3 clips in there, and that's it!
And if you don't know how to make mp3 clips, then here's an easy way to do it:
Download a program called Audacity, just search for it in google. You'll also need the LAME MP3 encoder, and you can find it from the same site. (You need it to export the MP3s). The encoder will be in a zip file, just open it up and put the files where you want.
REMEMBER where you put them.
Once you have Audacity installed, open any mp3 with it. Click and drag your mouse in the blue wave area to highlight which part you want. ( Make the clip 20 secs or a little longer).
Now, cut it.
Go to File, then New
Then Paste
Now, go to File - and Export as MP3...
You'll probably see this come up, if so - then just click Yes, and find the lame_enc.dll file that came with the MP3 encoder. Open it
After that, save the mp3 wherever you want - and name it whatever you like.
Once you've made two clips, then rename one: german_win
and the other one: us_win
and place them in your :\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\yourname\day of defeat source\dod\sound\ambient folder.
There it is
Now you have your very own victory music!
Let me know if you have any questions. Enjoy
