Obtaining the Gunboats

What do you have to do to obtain the gunboats.

Are they unlocked with the third milestone with the Buff Banner or are they through random drop only.

Random drop i know of only 1 person with them his name is Mr.Evil he got it on thursday when the game was glitchy.

Actually, I think they're fairly worthless. You have to give up your shot gun.
Just have a medic buff you before you jump.

If you can find a medic this time of year that is.

I have seen a few lure them out with a kritzkrieg

Class Token - Soldier + Slot Token - Secondary + Scrap Metal = Any secondary Soldier weapon

Primary weapon + primary weapon + primary weapon = Scrap Metal
Secondary weapon + secondary weapon + secondary weapon + secondary weapon = Slot Token - Secondary
Any Soldier item + any Soldier item + any Soldier item + any Soldier item + any Soldier item = Class Token - Soldier


Even with this there is still a 50% chance that you will just craft another Buff Banner.

I got them within 10 minutes of playing the update.

I have 2 of the Gunboats. Can't get a single demo/soldier weapon to save my life though.....

I got one too. I have never use it though. The buff banner or the shotgun are both better.

I also got the Gunboats Thursday during the glitches. Actually, I got all but 2 wepons that day

The banner is undeniably better than the shotgun in many situations. The boots are at best debatable in a bare handful of 1v1 fights. I'd like them just to have them, but that's about it. I would trade my melee slot for them, but that's it.

I'd prefer the shotgun, but I haven't found anything(literally, anything) for months D:

Yeah I could never see using these over my shotgun or my bugle thing. The shotgun is a lethal killing weapon when worked with alongside rockets, and the bugle is just amazing for group rushes. If I wanted no damage on a rocket jump, I'd just get buffs from a medic.
