eGO's Servers are extremely laggy?

Hi there everyone,

I haven't been playing in the eGO servers till recently and I noticed that they are super duper crazy laggy for me, I went in a server with only 5 people in it and I got 300+ ping. I don't have crappy connection as the other servers on TF2 work just fine. There was this one time I only had 50 ping, but everything was still lagging HORRIBLY. I doubt its my computer hardware being too old, as it surpasses the req. by miles. So what's the deal here? I want to play with you guys but it's too laggy to play! :cursing::crying::chair::facewall:

They're working on it. It was laggy during my Soldier training event I was teaching, but it subsided after a min.

Where are you from and which server? Use google maps to find the distance. Divide the result by 125 (125 mi = 1 ms over fiber). Multiply by 2 (traffic there and back). That will be the absolute best latency you can get on that server due to distance. This does not account for routing. Each router/switch along the way will add ~ 1 ms. A traceroute will only show you IP hops, not switch hops so that isn't a reliable count.

Also yes they have had a bit of lag as of late, but normally they're stupid fast. I used to so a ping of 30 and below.
