I would also recommend you custom build a computer if you are going to use it for gaming or whatever. You could easily save 25% or more off the price of a major manufacturer for a mid to high end gaming computer. Even lower end computers can often save you a large amount of money to custom build.
Let us know what you will be using the computer for and we can has out some ideas on what to put in it and where from.

Yes i am talking about customizing lol. Also i dont want a mac i want a gaming computer i want a 9800 graphic card for example but i want to know whats compatable with it and stuff.

All we need is a budget and you'll have multiple possible builds show up.

yup budget is the only thing we need to know right now.........and yea, we wouldn't suggest a mac for gaming and the fact you said custom built.......wasn't really a smart answer whoever said "get a mac"

Also im just playing counter strike source maybe going to buy some other games like mw2.

I have that motherboard and i must say, it is full of winz

it OC's like a dream (i have 3.7GHz on my phenom II X2 BE on stock air)
and everything just works

I forgot an optical disk drive!

A DVD burner will add another ~$30 onto that, unless you have one you can just swap.

I think you should redo it but with an AM3 only motherboard with DDR3 memory. I see no point in investing in old tech, I regret doing so on my build.

DDR3 is cheaper than DDR2 now is it not??? cuz DDR2 prices rose like a mother recently in the past couple of months

Not that I'm aware of..... That's like saying "i7's are cheaper than i5's now."

As of now DDR2 is still more bang-for-your-buck than DDR3.

That really makes no sense....that's like saying a 2004 model car is more than a 2009 model of the same car...

idk man.........4gb of ddr2 ram has risen to like around $100 now........it was like around $50-60 a couple months ago

I know it sounds stupid but it rose that much in price......

-4gb DDR3 1066

-4gb DDR2 800

uhhh?!?!? cheapest DDR2 ram on newegg 4gb is like $75 after rebate.........cheapest DDR3 ram on newegg 4gb is $75 with no rebate......can get much faster DDR3 ram for cheaper than slower DDR2 ram, theres like DDR3 1600 ram cheaper than DDR2 800 ram

still sound ridiculous??

Original Price: $89.99
You Save: $15.00

So they're the same price. I haven't done my research on OCZ RAM but I would assume that the DDR3 has a crappy IC on it.

Also looking at the timings and CAS latencty:

The DDR2 800, 5-5-5-15
CAS time is 6.25 ns

The DDR3 1066, 7-7-7-16
CAS time is 6.57 ns

So the DDR2 is better for gaming (although not by much). And an AM3 only mobo with DDR3 will most likely cost more.
